LEDs Revolutionize How We Cycle

Amsterdam is the city of bikes. Bikes dominate the city. One of the major differences, though, between Amsterdam and the rest of the world is that cars and pedestrians are used to this lifestyle in the Dutch capital. Nevertheless, safety comes first. Especially in the winter hours, the sun fades fast and lights are a necessity. Jenny Holt of LEDlights.co.uk shares her thoughts in this guest post about the importance of lights in regards to cycling safety.

Unearthing a Caribbean Paradise on the Island of Sint Maarten – Saint Martin

This past November, Matthijs and I embarked on a 10-day Caribbean cruise. After releasing my book, moving, and doing a month-long Midwest book tour, we felt a vacation was in order! One of the stops our ship made was in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten. Sint Maarten-Saint Martin is actually the smallest landmass in the world to be shared by two different nations, with Sint Maarten on the south side (the Dutch side) and Saint Martin (the French side) to the north. We visited Sint Maarten once before, also while sailing with Celebrity Cruises, but previously we just walked around town. This time, we knew we wanted to spread our wings. We rented a car and drove to the French side, where we did an hour hike to Petite Cayes and discovered a hidden parade. Read on to hear all about our adventure!

From The Sea To The Rainforest: Celebrating Life, Love, and Friendship While Exploring Saint Kitts

On November 18, Matthijs and I embarked on a 10-day Caribbean cruise. One of the stops our ship, the Celebrity Equinox, made was in Basseterre, St. Kitts. It just so happened that my good friend and fellow author, Savannah Grace, was staying on the sister island of Nevis. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were that our schedules coincided and knew that it was fate; we had to meet up.

Savannah and her husband, Kees, took the morning ferry over from Nevis to St. Kitts to meet us. We spent the day touring the island with Glenn, our guide, who did an amazing job providing interesting tidbits about the island. We visited Wingfield Estate, hiked through the rainforest, saw two oceans at once, and relaxed on the beach. All in all, it was a fantastic day. Read on to learn more about our adventure!

On the way back from visiting my aunt and uncle, we stopped to see Fallingwater in southwest Pennsylvania. This piece of property – the house included – was love at first sight. Read on to learn about the history of this masterpiece.
